Welcome to another edition of GAMMA Connecting..
This brief newsletter is for GAMMA men, as well as being for those interested in GAMMA, and those who may use our services one day or have in the past.
Recently our AGM was held and I am pleased to introduce below the new Executive Committee. Without their commitment GAMMA would not be able to continue.
| President: | Peter Kadwell |
| Secretary: | David Hoskins |
| Treasurer: | Scott Middleton |
| Committee: | Graham Foreman, Ross McDonald, and Andrew Petterson |
These men function, along with our Telephone Volunteers and a small team of assistants, to form the backbone of GAMMA.
Remember that we have an e-mail at GAMMA that is checked fairly regularly:
Of particular note was the retirement of Jase Hodson from the position of President. Jase’s contribution to GAMMA over several years has been outstanding.
A dinner to honour Jase’s commitment to GAMMA will be held on Friday evening, November 13th at 7:00 PM.
Shop 3, 265 Crown Street
Surry Hills
BYO wine.
An open invitation is extended to all who are able to join. It will be a great night, and we hope to see as many people there as can make it.
Please RSVP by 10 November to Scott on scottmidd1@yahoo.com.au or call him on (0414) 804-711.
As previously mentioned, we are thinking about producing a book of GAMMA stories.
The ideas for such a book being two-fold.
We are still keen to know if any man is interested in helping us create a book of stories about men who had experienced journeys such as ours. We have had some positive indications and we’d love to hear from you. If you need assistance in writing your own story then we hope to have the assistance of a writer to help you.
Wednesday, November 18th we have GAMMA member and Psychologist, Tony Williams talking about Meeting the Challenge of Change. This will prove to be a most valuable talk as the potential changes facing many of our men can be overwhelming.
If you are interested in helping us create a book of stories about men who had experienced journeys such as ours, we’d love to hear from you. You may like to contribute your own story, if so we hope to have the assistance of a writer to assist you towards achieving just that.
Our December meetings focus around end of year Christmas plans and celebrations. On Wednesday, December 2nd we will be holding the popular GAMMA Café and talk about Christmas plans and mechanisms, recognising that this particular time of year can present many challenges for our members. Our breakup dinner will be held on December 16th and details about this will be forwarded soon.
We hope to see you at a GAMMA meeting or social function very soon.
Peter
President
